American Society of Safety Engineers
Over the years, the primary area of practice for ASSE members has been the field of occupational safety. Recent studies have revealed that motor vehicle collisions now account for the majority of all occupational fatalities. This means that being behind the wheel of a motor vehicle is a more dangerous place to work than in any other single industrial environment. These statistics have helped to inspire the formation of the ASSE Transportation Division. One of the primary goals of the transportation division is to continually study how and why transportation accidents happen in order to practice successful prevention. This requires well trained and experienced safety professionals, who have specific skills in the investigation and reconstruction of transportation accidents. The ASSE is pleased to join with the other participating professional organizations that comprise ACTAR, in supporting the accreditation process. |
