NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF TRAFFIC ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTIONISTS AND INVESTIGATORS

NATARIThe National Association of Traffic Accident Reconstructionists and Investigators (NATARI) was established as a non-profit Pennsylvania corporation in 1984. The goal of NATARI is to provide a source of information to be shared among accident professionals on a national basis. This goal is reflected in the NATARI logo comprised of an outline of the nation, a broken wheel signifying a traffic collision and the words "to solve for safety".

NATARI membership is open to professionals who constitute three levels of experience and training. Unique among the organization is the combination of both reconstructionists and investigators, as well as associates. The majority of NATARI members are from the mid-Atlantic areas of the United States, however, the organization has members from other areas of the country and Canada. Members receive a $5,000 Accidental Death policy and a quarterly newsletter that has been consistently produced for the last twelve years. The newsletter provides the NATARI membership with information on new publications and equipment, training opportunities, vehicle recall information, ACTAR opportunities and timely topics of interest to the reconstructionist and investigator.

NATARI also sponsors an annual seminar in the fall, where state-of-the-art presentations have been made by prominent people in the field of accident investigation and reconstruction. Field tests at the seminars offer participants a first-hand look at developing information and data for future use. NATARI continues to offer this invaluable training opportunity in conjunction with NAPARS, MATAI and NJAAR.

NATARI is a strong supporter of ACTAR, and as a participating organization, was the first to offer the accreditation test to candidates. A substantial number of NATARI members are ACTAR accredited.
